Dynamic Strain ageing in Alluminium alloys: experiments and modelling (Samuel Forest, Mines Paris)

Strain ageing phenomena are ubiqituous in industrial metallic alloys. They are characterised by ow or even negative strain rate sensitivity at high temperature and culminate with the Portevin-Le Chatelier effect associated withe serrations on the overall curves and the propagation of strian rates localization bans. A multiscale experimental and modelling strategy will be presented combining uni and multiaxial testing and systematic strongly nonlinear finite elemen simulations at macro and polycrystalline scales.
