Résumé + bio au format pdf

Two-dimensional (2D) materials are an emerging class of low-dimensional materials,  having fascinating properties and offering advantages in both manufacturing and   performance in a variety of applications. Raman and photoluminescence spectroscopy  have been proven very successful techniques to in-depth characterize 2D materials such as single- and few-layer graphene as well as transition metal dichalcogenides (e.g. MoS2, WS2). These techniques extensively used to determine among others, the number of layers and their orientation, the quality of edges, and the effect of perturbations such as mechanical strain (uniaxial, biaxial, tensile, compressive), electron or hole doping, chemical functionalization. In this speech the usage of optical spectroscopy to understand properties and physical phenomena related to 2D materials will be described in a simplified manner.
