Résumé au format pdf

This talk discusses novel developments on acoustic wave propagation and emission in porous media with active inner heat sources. By using the two-scale asymptotic method of homogenisation, the classical theory of long-wavelength sound propagation in rigid-frame single porosity materials is generalised to account for inner heat sources placed in either the pore fluid network or the solid frame of the materials. The influence of inner heat sources on the acoustics of multiscale porous materials is also discussed. In all cases, it is found that a macroscopic non-homogeneous wave equation describes the emission and propagation of sound waves in a porous material with active inner heat sources, whilst the general properties of the effective material's parameters remain unchanged. This research provides novel perspectives for the development of permeable materials which can act as sound radiators and/or absorbers.
