Droplet impact is of tremendous importance in nature and technology, from inkjet printing to spray cooling to agricultural applications. Of particular importance is the impact on superhydrophobic surfaces. In this talk, I will delve into the physics of this process by probing the normal reaction force during the bouncing process. We will use key insights from the principles of momentum and energy conservation to provide a criterion for the cessation of such a bouncing event.
